What I want
I want to live my life for you, Lord,
I want to give all that I am,
I want to lose myself in serving you,
Loving others where I can.
I want to die to sin inside me,
To be pure the way you are.
So that when others are around me,
You?re not far.
I want to lay my weary head down,
Onto the palm of your open hand.
I want to swim through glassy waters,
To reach the golden sand.
I want to see the pearly gates you made,
I want to pass and enter in,
Then feel freedom in a country,
Without my sin.
I want to sit on flowing hills, Lord,
And watch the wind move through the grass,
I want to see the road to heaven,
And the way I passed.
I want to grasp in awe and wonder,
How you loved and carried me.
So that when my tears are fading,
I may see.
I may finally see.
I want to cast that crown before you,
And bow before your throne,
I want to give all that I ever was,
To you alone.
And when these million saints start singing
?Hallelujah to the lamb?,
My feeble voice will join the waters,
With all I am.
I want to take your promise to me,
And hold it fast as if a pearl,
I want to trust your Word completely,
For my entire little world.
So when I meet you at the dawn of time,
You can say ?my son, well done?,
?You have kept my saving words to you,
The race is finally won?.
